Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, INC

Epsilon Eta Chapter

What We Do

Iota Phi Lambda is a service sorority dedicated to serving communities across America through local chapters.

Epsilon Eta is the local chapter for the middle peninsula.
National Programs:

American Education Week

The Epsilon Eta Chapter has sponsored an array of activities in the celebration of American Education Week. In support of educators, the chapter has sponsored Apple for the Teacher Luncheon Programs and provided snacks and goodie-bags in staff lounges. The chapter has supported classrooms in local public-schools by providing supplies and reading to students.

Black History Month

The chapter has sponsored workshops on Negro Spirituals at local churches and fashion shows featuring ethnic wear. Programs have been held highlighting local talent, civil rights heroes and African American trailblazers in education, entertainment, medicine, science, and journalism.

For over a decade the Black History celebration has included entertainment, education, and food. Black Men Cooking, a tasting of soul foods prepared by local chefs in which twenty to thirty chefs, has been a highlight of this event. This community event supports the Chapter’s scholarship fund.

Business Month

April is set aside to highlight individuals in various business professions in the community. Epsilon Eta has honored local physicians, morticians, beauticians, community leaders, women in the fashion and merchandising fields, owners of janitorial services, owners of lawn care services, owners of an assisted living center, a martial arts academy owner, and an owner of a family and fun entertainment enterprise.
